How to call 112
The operator sees your location straight away and alerts every service needed, so you don't have to call each one. They will ask:
- What happened?
- Where did it happen?
- Is anyone hurt, and how many?
- What help you need, whether anyone has to be freed, whether there's fire, a hazardous leak or damaged installations.
- Who is calling?
Don't hang up first. 112 in Croatia also answers in English, German, Italian, Hungarian and Slovak.
- Text 112: for people who can't talk: deaf and hard-of-hearing people, people with speech impairments, and anyone who can't or mustn't speak at that moment.
- Cars with eCall call 112 by themselves after a crash.
- After a major disaster, report what happened and free the line. Don't call 112 for information.
